Jesus speaks on the day of the Son of Man

Scripture: Luke 17: 24-37, 21:25-38
I. Background: Whether it is in the Old or the New Testament Bible, both mention that a day is to come upon the entire human race. The era that is before the coming of this day, the Bible calls it “end times”. This is also the day of the “Son of Man”. There are many prophecies in the Bible pertinent to this day. We will use only two of them today for our study.
II. Questions to consider:
1. This day comes suddenly upon the entire human race （17:24-30）
i. What specific characteristics are of the day of Noah and of Lot? Were people in those days aware of major events were about to happen?
ii. What warning did God give to men? What signs are there?
2. This is the day of separation（17:31-37）
i. What does “saving life” and “losing life” mean? What does that have to do with God’s choosing?
ii. What does Jesus want to tell us in v. 34-35?
3. Men’s different reactions（21:25-38）
i. In the end times, what special phenomenon will we see in Mother Nature and the society?
ii. What are the reactions of the world when they see these phenomenons? What reactions should God’s children have? Why?
iii. What did God promise His children in the end times?
III. Feedback:
We are now living in the end times; a majority of the prophecies in the Bible are already fulfilled. The important thing is not to study these prophecies, but to prepare ourselves. So how do you prepare yourself for the day of the Lord’s return?

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)
