SJCA SMALL GROUP FELLOWSHIPS

Relationships with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ is crucial to our growth as a Christian.
Our small group fellowships provide one of the most basic means of building these relationships and cultivating fellowship with one another. Though we are connected to all believers, in our church and in the body of Christ, it is through our Small Group Fellowships that we can relate on a deeper level with each other.
Our Small Group Fellowship ministry has always been a significant part of our church, and will provide the environment for believers to reach Biblical goals.
Purpose
1. Application of God’s word to our lives. Merely hearing God’s word is not enough: we must be doers of the Word as well as hearers. Our Small Group Fellowships allow us to encourage one another as seek to bear fruit through applying God’s word. In our Small Group Fellowship meeting times, we can expect to apply the Bible’s teaching, review Sunday messages, discuss Christian books, and use a variety of other resources with the intention of growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Pursuit of biblical fellowship. Genuine fellowship isn’t practical in a large crowd. Small Group Fellowships provide a place where we can build closer relationships, care for one another, and help each other grow in our relationship with God.
3. Companionship in our spiritual journey. In our Small Group Fellowships brothers and sisters are there to empathize with each other and bear one each others burdens through prayer. God has not called us to walk alone, but with Him, and through His grace, to provide support and prayer for those around us.
Participation
Participation in a Small Group Fellowship is an integral part of San Jose Christian Assembly. If you would like to get to know us better and growing with us as we pursue the Lord, Small Group Fellowships is a great way to start. If you are interested in joining a Small Group Fellowship, please contact one of the pastors for placement in a group.
Responsibilities
Each member is important to the group, and should seek to contribute to the group’s health and success. We each have the responsibility in our group to:
1. Faithfully attend meetings and functions. We’re much more likely to benefit if we are actually present!
2. Willingly participate. Come ready to contribute, to serve, to share, and to open yourself to others. When the group has an assignment, diligently complete it. Both you and others will benefit from your participation.
3. Build relationships with other members outside the meeting.
Don’t confine your investment to the Small Group meeting—let this be the springboard to rich, enduring relationships.
